When you think of Canadian artist Lights a few words come to mind. However, acoustic isn’t one of them.

Lights has taken ten songs off of her album Siberia and striped them down to a raw sound for her album Siberia Acoustic. Lights has many fans due to her fresh electronic-pop music but has proven she’s not afraid to try something new. One can hear her experimentation with music from her first full length album The Listening.

Siberia Acoustic includes “Flux and Flow” which Lights claims is her favourite song off the album.

“Flux and Flow” has been altered from a booming-synth-pop groove to a more simplistic song with guitar, cello and vocals. Most of the album features these acoustic instruments making this album great for relaxing.

Whether you prefer Lights’ music to dance, or to calm down to, “Siberia Acoustic” shows Lights’ roots as a singer-songwriter. It is definitely worth a listen. Or shall we say, a “Listening”.
