Ready to move and keep running!? There are few easy tempos and no lead-ins to this full blown funk delivery from The Soul Motivators who are ready to Do the Damn Thing. Opening with the first track of the same title and finishing with brass heavy “Black Rhino”, this high energy album requires high volume to appreciate and reciprocate. Which explains why The Soul Motivators are found on the Sportsnet Hockey Soundtrack.

This Toronto based 70’s-style psychedelic funk band is comprised of strong vocals, brass, percussion, strings and keyboard. Staying in accord with the theme, many sounds are reminiscent of high speed car chases classic tv shows. Perhaps the track “Savalas” is a reference to the actor in the 1970s police drama Kojak.

You can catch your breath though with the easy groove of Miss Those Days but, be ready to pick up the pace with “Mindblastin’” – a perfect title for a hard funk/rock tune. This album is ideal for fitness and all modes of motivation, so put your game face on and Do the Damn Thing.
