CJRU 1280 AM is hosting its first fund drive on Oct.14 through Oct. 21! CJRU needs help from its community to continue supporting diverse local radio, with things like more voice recorders for volunteers, honourariums for live performers, and speakers for our communal workspace. Even small donations go a long way in providing better accessibility and equipment for our programmers.
A $50 donation will get you a CJRU thank you t-shirt. Everyone will get an on-air thank you and small prizes.
Fund Drive tee
The drive starts with The Night Shift, a live show at the Baby G on Oct. 14. We’ll have experimental acts from around the city including Allison Cameron, Above Top Secret and SlowPitchSound. You can join us there and take part in our raffle, which in the past has had more than $100 worth of prizes in the form of records and gift cards.
Then on Oct. 17, join us at the Ryerson Student Campus Centre for an open house and scavenger hunt. We’ll have live shows running throughout the day, so you can see how a radio program comes to life in front of your eyes.
We’re hoping to raise $1280 by Oct. 21 so tune in and donate as we gear up for special programming, shows and events throughout the week.
