CJRU BLACKOUT

In solidarity with the Blackout Tuesday campaign, CJRU is asking for submissions from Black and Indigenous artists to be played on air on June 2, 2020.

 

Submissions can include spoken word poetry as well as music.

 

To submit, email music@cjru.ca with the subject line Blackout CJRU. Please submit only clean MP3 files. We want to hear your voices and your art.

 

After a week of worldwide protests in response to the killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor among many others at the hands of police, numerous members of the music industry have vowed to disrupt “business as usual” practices in solidarity with the protestors. The initiative – originally dubbed #TheShowMustBePaused – was created by Atlantic’s Director of Marketing Jamila Thomas and former Atlantic executive Brianna Agyemang. Read their statement below.
