On the Way is a CJRU radio series that features the voices of Syrian refugee women and girls who share their stories of immigration. After the civil war broke out in their home country, they left in search of a better life. Each of their journeys have led them here, to Canada.

Fifteen personal accounts are thoughtfully told in the four-part series. Their stories reveal true courage, to leave their entire life behind and venture into the unknown to find safety and fair opportunities. There is strength in their voices as they recount some of the toughest moments they’ve faced. The unfortunate goodbye’s, longing, patience and ultimately the hope that shines a light on the future.

On the Way airs Mondays and Wednesdays at 5PM beginning on June 4.
